Torta Tinker Bell

Como les había contado, hace unas semanas me fui a Buenos Aires a ver a Carlos Lischetti y su hermano Elio para ver cómo hacían personajes de azúcar con expresiones tan reales y lindas. Bueno, esta fue mi primera torta en la que pude aplicar lo que vi.

As I told you, a few weeks ago I went to Buenos Aires to see Carlos Lichetti and his brother Elio to whatch how they do sugar characters with real and amazing expresions. And well, this was the first cake in where I could apply what I have seen there.

Hacer 2 figuras grandes de hadas me tomó muuuucho mas tiempo del que pensaba. Hay que esperar que se seque cada una de las partes para que quede firme, además claro de las flores y las hojas.

To make 2 big faerie figures took me a looooot of time, more than what I was expecting to. You have to wait until each one of the parts dry so everything is firm, plus make the flowers and leaves.

Cada flor y cada hoja están hechas de azúcar teñida de algún color que luego, cuando se encontraba seca, se pinta nuevamente para fundir los colores y darle mas profundidad, que se vea más real. Aproveché de utilizar mis nuevos polvos comestibles nácar y plateado, que amé!! porque le dan magia a toda la escena.

Each flower and each leave are made of dyed sugar of some color that when it was dry, was painted again to melt the colors and give them more deepness and, to look more real. I used my new eatable silver and nacar powders, that I loved!!! because they add some magic to the whole scene.

Fue una torta muy entretenida de hacer, porque a pesar del tiempo que me tomó, creo que valió la pena el esfuerzo... Además que la niña a la que iba dirigida le encantó!!!! :)

It was a fun cake to make because even it took a lot of time to do, I think it was worth it... Besides, the little girl that recieved the cake was sooo happy about it!!!! :)
