Me encanta cuando me hacen pedidos desafiantes, es re entretenido tener que craneárselas (buscar la manera) para hacerlos.

Hace 1 semana me llegó un pedido de una amiga bioquímica, que quería una torta chica de 10 personas para la titulación de su tutora. Ellos trabajaban con Arabidopsis thaliana, una especie de planta muy utilizada para investigación en nuestra área. Es como el modelo top de estudio en plantas. Además trabajan con hongos y reloj circadiano. Esto último tiene relación con los cambios o procesos diferentes que ocurren durante la noche/día o luz/oscuridad; etc.

The thing is that 1 week ago came a biochemist friend that wannted a small cake for 10 people for the graduation of her tutor. They work with Arabidopsis thaliana, a plant specie very used in the reseach of our field of study. It is like the top model for plant study. Plus, they work with fugi and the circadian clock, which is the study of the changes or diferent process that ocurrs during the night/day or light/darkness...

Por lo tanto, tenía que crear una torta que fuese científicamente correcta en cuanto a diseño y a la vez atractiva estéticamente. Esta no era tan difícil en cuanto a que los que iban a verla conocían la parte científica y por lo tanto, si ponía detalles ñoños, los entenderían jajaja. (Acuérdense que yo también soy bioquímica, por lo que también lo entendería, lo que me convierte en ñoña también jajaja)

So, I had to create a cake that was scientificaly right in design and at the same time nice. That was not so difficult, because all the people that were going to see the cake knew the science part, so if I added some nerd details, they would understand hahahaha. (Please note that I am also a biochemist, so I also understand it, so I am nerd too ;))

Lo más dificil fue ensamblar la planta. Pero, de a poco he ido aprendiendo como construir cosas que se mantengan estables, con algún soporte escondido por ahí :)

The most difficult part was to ensamble the plant. But I have learned little by little how to biuld things that need to be stable with some support mecanism hidden somewhere :)
